My Creative Time: Release Blog Hop!

Hello and good morning! Welcome to the blog hop for the newest release from My Creative Time!!! I LOVE this release!!!

You should have gotten here from Cindy's blog! If not, start at My Creative Time!

Did you pre-order your stamps and dies yet? Go do it HERE! :)

I made this for my husband. He LOVES his dirty martinis and so I wanted to make him a card so that the next hard day that he has - he'll come home and this will be sitting next to his dirty martini. I think he'll like it.

The extra olives are because I always steal his olive out of his martini. We always order extra or put more in ourselves. I like my olives "well marinated". :)

So... I was a little nervous about getting the vellum down without showing adhesive behind it - Xyron adhesive to the rescue!!! I ran it through my 1.5" Sticker Maker. love. Definitely will be using this with all my vellum.

Designer's note This doesn't show it, but there is actually a vellum shadow to the left of the martini. It looks good in real life. You'll just have to take my word on that. ;)

Xyron- Back To School!

I am totally in love with the laminate cartridges for the Creative Stations. I used the 5" Creative Station for this project.

I thought I would make a little name tag for Emmaline. Since she is only 1 and not in school yet, I wanted one that would last her a long time that I could reuse. I will attach this one to her diaper bag so when we check her into the nursery at church, they will know it's her bag. Eventually we'll use it for her lunch box and/or backpack.

Step 1: Die cut/use scissors to create your layers.

Step 2:  Run the middle layer through the 2.5" Sticker Maker "upside down" so that the front has the sticky part. I ran it through twice so that both sides would be sticky and just left it on the paper while I worked with it.

Step 3: Place name tag part down onto the sticky surface. Then glitter!

Step 4: Remove backing from the red layer and stick to back later. Embellish as desired and then run the whole thing through the 5" Creative Station with the laminate cartridge inserted.

Step 5: Voila! Tag! Use your hole punch to create a place for the ribbon to tie on. Enjoy!

May Arts Ribbon Cutting Blog Hop and giveaways!

Hello!!! We are SOOO excited today to launch the new website which is SOOO awesome! Check it out HERE!!! And IIIIIIII am so excited to have you stop by my blog! Welcome!

You should have gotten here from the crazy-talented Jessica Kephart's blog! If not, start HERE at the beginning at May Arts to see what the fuss is about, enter to win over $1000 of prizes (no, there is not an extra "0" on that... it really is $1000!!!) and get ready to be inspired!

Today's theme was "ribbon cutting" as it is our ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the website! Fun, right!? I love puns. Anywho, I had this awesome wired ribbon that you will be seeing shortly when I post about Emmaline's first birthday party. I thought - why not make it look like you cut the ribbon, it rolled back, and balloons came out!?

I made these balloons by free cutting some wonky circles and then sewing them, stuffing them, and sewing them around the edges to show off the wonky-ness. I just wanted this to be a little more playful and less perfect. Some May Arts paper cording was PERFECT for the tails!

A fond farewell to Shop Pumpkin Spice - I even colored!!!

Good Sunday morning to you!!!

This week at Shop Pumpkin Spice the challenge is coloring.... let's just say Courtney wasn't made to color. I tried really hard on this one! So please participate in the challenge and if you are a terrible color-er then I would especially love it - I'll be in good company! :)

I made this for one of my Godchildren. I wanted it to be totally non-spooky and fun!

Well, Denine (the owner) of Shop Pumpkin Spice was my first sponsor. I called her because a big online store told me they had a stamp set that I needed for a DT project. I ordered it. And two weeks later they emailed to say it wasn't in stock (my project was due 5 days later.). eek! I called the number for Shop Pumpkin Spice (by the way, it's her CELL PHONE. She's a one woman show - but how many store owners list their cell!?!). Anyway she had the stamp set, I explained what was going on, and she went to the post office and put it in the mail that day. We've been fast friends ever since.

I will miss Shop Pumpkin Spice a lot but it is time for me to slow down a little bit and take care of baby #2 which is in my belly! With purchasing a foreclosure (a LOT of work) and flying over once a month every month this year, it has been busy - but for ALL good reasons and I feel sooo blessed that these are the reasons I am worn out! Anyhow, you will still see me linking and supporting Shop Pumpkin Spice because a: I LOVE supporting small business. b: I love supporting Denine and appreciate what she does behind the scenes to run a business literally all by herself and c: because I LOVE that design team. They will be friends for life.

Please stop by her store and check it out and see if there is anything on your wish list! Her prices are fabulous! The link is HERE.

I am away at a wedding that I am the matron of honor of!!! Congratulations Michelle and Bryan! They got married yesterday!

This week's theme is sunshine at Shop Pumpkin Spice. I planned this - this is not cheating - although I feel like it IS sneaky. I used My Mind's Eye: Good Day SUNSHINE papers for this whole card! It was quite a challenge to turn it into a wedding card, but I did it! :)

I mustache you a question...

Check out Thrifty Thursday over at My Creative Time! This Random paper pad was down to scraps but I was able to find a few big pieces to put behind my cards! I should have taken a picture of the black piece - it BARELY fit the dies and I was so thrilled to use  up that scrap and throw it in the trash! :) The brad was also a "leftover". Isn't it darling though? Pretty perfect for a birthday card. I just want to caption it "say cheese!"

I made this for my co-dad (father-in-law). He always has his mustache and wears his glasses when he needs them and is just too darling for words. He will like this card! Inside it says, "Hope you're be-shaving yourself!" :) :) :) I know. I know. I'm so cheesy.

I used my 1.5" Xyron Create-a-Sticker to adhere the glasses. I didn't feel like getting my hands dirty with the liquid glue and these dies fit PERFECTLY into the machine! :) love it!
